Australian 27MHz Marine Frequencies

Unfortunately, 43 Div can't use the real high freqs, because down here in OZ, we have a 27MHz Marine Band Allocation. All these are in the AM mode, with 4w output. Although many seagoing operators now only monitor VHF Distress Channels. If purchasing a marine transceiver, a VHF marine transceiver is now strongly recommended. But beware 43 div freebanders, the 27MHz Marine Band is GOVERMENT ALLOCATED. There are still alot of small private pleasure craft that use 27 MHz Marine, because it's a lot cheaper than the VHF.

26MHz Freqs

26.100mhz-26.122mhz are reported as Maritime Mobile usage, in RTTY & SITOR (data transmissions, such as shipping navigation info, NAVTEX and the like).

26.140-26.174mhz USB are a variety of Coastal Stations, from Denmark, Switzerland, one from Israel, and 26.148mhz USB is from Portishead, UK. Some are split frequency duplex transmission paired up with transmission in the 25mhz region.

26.241mhz is quoted as being French Millitary, data transmission.

26.220, 26.280 through to 26.640mhz is quoted as UNID (UNIDentified transmissions in USB, quoted as "CB Style" transmissions).

Above midband, all it says are "Meterolgical Aides (SONDES)" - 27.500-27.600mhz. Obviously including the odd channel for radio control purposes along the line.

For a fact, there are definite frequencies to avoid in the States for ships - and the same for our Oz cousins and the Japanese. Word has it that imported 27mhz rigs are massively illegal and disrupt with ship comms. Over in the land of the rising son, they specialise in 900mhz CB equipment with tonnes of channels at their disposal. Which, I have reason to believe is very popular.

So DXer's, with 26mhz TREAD CAREFULLY. With this in mind, in Alpha Tango's defence their rules to operate from 27.415mhz upwards ending at just under 28mhz isn't one of their daftest ones eh?

All frequencies are set by the ITU (International Telecommunications Union - [www.itu.int] ) - they decide who should use what frequencies, and who shouldn't. An explanation of the ITU obviously resides online.

Zvláště o těch radioamatérech třídy A, B, C a D. Kde všude mohou vysílat a s jakým výkonem. Opravdu poučné.
